Coral Bay & East End
Quiet, starry, and slow, with a 20–30 minute drive to town. Check road access and property infrastructure before booking.

Most visitor beds on St. John are private villas and condos. Expect hillside stairs and steep driveways; many listings recommend 4WD.

Camping at Cinnamon Bay
Cinnamon Bay Beach & Campground — bare sites, eco-tents, and cottages — is the only lodging inside Virgin Islands National Park, steps from the beach.

Book early for winter
December–April is high season and the villa inventory is finite. The best-located properties book many months out.
Ask about the hill
Stairs, grade, parking, and 4WD requirements matter more here than almost anywhere — especially for night arrivals and travelers with limited mobility.
Power, water & backup
Island utilities can be interrupted. Ask about generator or battery backup, cistern water, and connectivity — and check live status before arrival.
